Biographie

Dr. Huot a de l'expérience dans l'industrie ainsi que dans le milieu universitaire. Après son doctorat en physique de l'Université Laval, il a été post-doctorant au département de génie chimique de l’Université Texas A & M. En tant que bénéficiaire d'une bourse dans un laboratoire japonais, il a contribué à la découverte d'une nouvelle classe d'hydrures métalliques. Par la suite il a travaille dans l'industrie (Hydro-Québec et HERA) où il a fait des recherches sur les alliages nanocristallins à base de magnésium. En tant que chercheur à Hydro-Québec, il a publié 59 articles dans des revues évaluées par des pairs et a été co-directeur de thèse dans deux institutions: (INRS et U. Laval). Depuis 2004, il est professeur au département de physique de l'Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières et membre de l'Institut de recherche hydrogène. Il a développé une expertise dans le gaz-solide des réactions dans les hydrures métalliques ainsi que des connaissances approfondies dans la caractérisation des matériaux (rayons X et diffraction de neutrons, la calorimétrie, les systèmes de titrage hydrogène). Il a publié plus de 100 articles dans des revues avec comité de lecture et est co-inventeur de 10 brevets.
